We took our time getting to Calgary and stayed with my brother near Sundrie for two nights. We had missed out on the family reunion this year, so we have been trying to catch up with everyone by camping or visiting with them. My brother and his wife had purchased a plot of land a few weeks ago so we had the pleasure of walking the property and seeing their vision for the place. There is a lot of work for their family but it does set them up for the long term.
Catching up was great, and the rivalry in card games picked up where it left off. More loosing than winning, but it was their deck of cards after all.
Meeting the Grand Son
We carried on to Calgary to meet the new addition to the family, - he is internet shy so no details here. Those who know Amanda or I will already know the details anyway. You can see the family resemblance (the hair line); I think his will fill in while mine will fall out! We have been holding him between feedings and doing what we can to help out around the house and occupy the dogs.
Pete has been struggling a bit with not being allowed in the house. Wally, the head of the household is keeping a close eye and is also a bit perplexed with who is in HIS house with those new smells and new noises.
My daughter and hubby are, as you would expect tired, but doing great with settling into a new house rhythm with the new addition. Junior has already demonstrated his abilities at waking the house, and filling his drawers (and beyond). We will be out of their way come Monday but will see them in October when we are headed for home. Next stop most likely is Drumheller, we will know for sure tomorrow 🙂
