The Hub

We got ourselves off the 400 series roads and onto the back roads where we can breathe again. We are in the Durham area, staying at The Hub through HH. The nearest town is Uxbridge, just 15 minutes up the road from Goodwood where Schitts Creek was filmed. The Apothecary is now a mercantile with local pottery, knit goods, and other art. The cafe is closed, and no life around the garage. Spotted Roland's house but not much more. The motel is in a different place, Orangetown, funny how a reality can be spliced together from disjointed locations.

At the Hub, we went hiking in the morning, enjoying a cool walk through the deciduous forest. We could have biked, but some of it was more technical than we are up for. The Hub is the highest point of land in the Toronto area, so we are sitting on an old ski lift chair enjoying the eastern view.

We left the Hub and are toodling through Muskoka  country, very pretty and picturesque. We stopped at Gravenhurst on the lake for a walk on the docks, a break for Pete and coffee for us. As is his way, Pete had a love-in with four kids while waiting for Mandy at The Shipyards.  We seem to keep finding pastry worth stopping for, we gotta stop that (or not). We are going to spend a couple of nights in Algonquin Park at Cannisby Lake, then carry on to Perth to visit a close friend.
